May and June Wrap Up & Book Haul!

Copy of TopTen Tuesday.jpg

Ugh, I’m never doing this again. Why did I think that it was a good idea to condense two months of reading into one wrap up post? It’s been so long since I’ve written anything other than review or a guest post that I actually forgot how to put a wrap up together. Honestly, I can’t even remember what happened in the last two months, thank god I publish every aspect of my life on the internet ( I’m joking.)

What I did this Month (2)

Gianna May - June 094Although, truth be told May and June are kinda hazy.So this what I can remember…  in May I had had dental work done and so I got a lot of presents from my family, yay !!!! Which was really sweet of them because it was a minor procedure. The rest of the month was spent at the beach and working on the something that I’m introducing in August.  June was much more hectic because I had assignments that I needed to complete and spent a large part of the month working on SHTSBR. I also went to the BN-Fest or whatever it was called and was surprised by how much your experience differed from store to store. Honestly it was’t that great, although I did win the spelling bee contest which was surprising because I had not only never read any of the books being mentioned, and I’m also a terrible speller. So that was fun. I also loved the chapter sampler’s that they gave out but then I saw that they were giving out arcs in other stores and looked down at my stickers and didn’t think that it was that great anymore. I mean, THEY WERE GIVING OUT REPLICA ARCS!!!!!! Of all the injustices, that I face as a mostly absentee blogger why the heck can’t I live near a B&N giving out arcs at it’s teen festival?!?! I can’t be the only person feeling this way, can I?

What I did this Month

What I Read in May & June

Within the months of May and June I read ten books in total which ended up putting me 27 books behind on my challenge to read 100 books this year. But I’m not stressing about it, in all likelihood I’m not going to achieve that goal of 100 books and I ended up really liking most of the books that I read.

On my blog

In May I wrote shared my thoughts on two books, the first one was Traitor Angels by Anne Blankman which was a good book but it certainly wasn’t one of my favorite books by the author. Another book which I reviewed was Girl About Town which was a surprisingly good historical fiction mystery and I would highly recommend checking it out!

I also wrote my first discussion post of the  year in which I talked about How To Avoid Spoilers.

I debuted Say Hello To Summer Book Releases in May!!! The first two authors to participate were Jen Klein , Robin Constantine and Chris Howard.

I wrote my (very late) April Wrap Up, in which I discussed my trip to Lamberville, a visit to a cute indie book shop, what I read and more!

In June I wrote only one review, The Museum of Heartbreak but it’s one of my favorite reviews that I’ve written so far this year.

I created a mood board for There Once Were Stars blog tour.

I also featured one of my favorite SHTSBR posts yet, a post card tour through Europe by Jen Malone

Book Haul!

I was fortunate enough to receive 9 books from publishers friends and even purchased one myself! I was also lucky enough to have received some e-books for review but will not be including them in my wrap up because I can’t be bothered to upload all of the books covers.

  1. I loved The Fill-In Boyfriend and Red Queen. I still need to read Glass Sword. I’ve had it on my Kindle since it came out in February. I think I’ll do a re-read before I get into it. Have you read the sequel yet?

    1. No I haven’t picked up the sequel yet * hides in shame* but I’m not sure if I’m going to be continuing with series because I’ve heard some not so positive things about the next book.

Sounds like you had a great month! Also, I HAD NO IDEA Anne Blankman had another book??? I’ve read Prisoner of Night and Fog and love it, I’ve yet to read the second. But any historical fiction is just automatically added to my TBR 😀 I checked out your review of Traiter Angels too and it sounded incredible, so I can’t wait to get my hands on it!

You read a whole lot of books this month! I’m glad you read Red Queen – it’s one of my current faves! I’m also hoping to read A Study In Charlotte soon. I actually recently read the first book in the Portia Adam’s Adventure Series, which is also a Sherlock Holmes spin-off. I’m going to be posting a review on it soon on my own blog – you should check it out! I’m sure you’d like it.
