Review Policy

TO the readers of The Petite Book Blogger

First of all thank you so much for visiting my blog! I promise that I will post fair and honest reviews of books I have purchased, borrowed, been gifted or have received as ARCs or review copies. I am in no way compensated for the work I do here on the blog, so my opinions are my own and not influenced in any way.

TO PUBLISHERS AND AUTHORS:

Thanks so much for visiting The Petite Book Blogger and your interest in requesting that I read and review your novel. I am currently accepting Advance Reading Copies and Review Copies of physical books and eBooks only. I do not accept self-published work. I ONLY accept novels that are Young Adult  in the following genres:
  • Contemporary/Romance

  • Retellings
  • Sci-Fi

I DO NOT REVIEW:

  • Paranormal
  • LGBT
  • Adult
  • Memoirs

With each review request I will need the following information in order to make an informed decision:

  • Detailed book summary
  • Release date
  • Why you think I would enjoy this book or why you would like me to consider reviewing
  • Time frame in which you would like to see a review posted
  • Any additional expectations you may have

Please allow at least one to two business days for my response.

IF I ACCEPT YOUR BOOK FOR REVIEW

If I accept your offer, I will provide my mailing address (for physical books) and can commit to posting a review no less than ten days before the publish date (unless otherwise requested). All reviews will be cross-posted to my Goodreads account, Amazon and Barnes & Noble accounts. I will also promote your book on Twitter and Instagram.

NEGATIVE REVIEWS

Please note that my reviews reflect my own personal opinions and tastes. Unfortunately, there may be instances in which I will post a negative review if I do not enjoy the book. I can promise that negative reviews will never be mean-spirited or detrimental in any way; just an honest take on what I thought of the book.

DID NOT FINISH POLICY

I do reserve the right to not finish an ARC or review copy, and also not post a review if I do not feel comfortable doing so.

ADDITIONAL OPPORTUNITIES

I am also open to blog tours, cover reveals and guest blogging opportunities. Please email me at thepetitebookblogger@gmail.com for more information.

  1. Hi,
My name is Laura Francois, the author of Chasing Ghosts, a Reckless Perfection Novel. Chasing Ghosts is a young adult novel that deals with faith, family, dating, friendships, and a lot of other relevant topics teens face today.

I am interested in your review services. My book was released June 2016. I feel like you will enjoy this novel because it is relevant to what teens go through today including topics from relationships, school, friendships, health issues, sibling rivalry among other topics.
A month is about my time frame to have the book reviewed, but I am not picky.
Below is a brief synopsis of the novel:
After having a tough sophomore year, Mercedez is ready to get her act together. That includes getting better grades, making amends with her family, and even say goodbye to her bad boy ex-boyfriend. As she tries to turn the corner, she realizes though she is in a better place in life she still has to face her own worst enemy: herself.

Getting back together with her boyfriend was a blessing. Getting him to say the “l” word was a miracle. As Julia and her collegiate boyfriend get more serious, temptations arise. Julia contemplates taking her relationship with him to the next level, fearing she will lose him if she doesn’t.

Amanda is determined to do anything to become popular during her junior year of high school. While trying to get attention, she tries to make the grades, get involved in every club at school in order to get into Princeton, and of course, date one of the most popular guys at school, even though he is a known player.

Angela has finally made it to her junior year of high school and she is over the drama of the past years. Though the drama at school about her has died down, it has escalated at home, now that her mother is back together with her ex. Angela tries to avoid her mother’s boyfriend at all cost, however when tragedy strikes, he is the only one she believes she can turn to.
