Make Me Read It READATHON!

Usually I don’t participate in Read- A- Thons  is because…they are ridiculously short and they have too many rules. But, after seeing sign ups for this Read-A-Thon ( which is hosted by Val at The Innocent Smiley and Ely at Tea & Titles) I decided to sign up and join! This year, the read-a-thon will be from July 9th to the 16th! You can sign up here.

The Readathon Rules:

Look at the books you own, either physical, e-book or ones you’ve borrowed from the library and pick out a few you really want to read, or feel like you should read. It’s up to you how many you pick, personally I’d pick a few more than you expect to be able to read in a week. Example: if you think you’ll only read two, pick out five books or if you think you can read seven, pick out ten.

Make a list of these books on your blog, or make a video, or a Goodreads shelf or post a picture on Instagram—whatever is easiest for you. Then get friends, other bloggers/booktubers etc. to vote on which books you HAVE to read.

When the readathon comes along, you read the books in the order of most votes. For example, if one book gets 10 votes—you read that first, then the one that got 7 and so on. If there’s a tie, then it’s your preference. The goal is to read as many as possible.

Obviously, I’m not going to read all of these books between July 9 -16th. So I decided to add my own twist and make this challenge more into a Victoria, you’ve been saying forever that you are going to read these books and YOU WILL finish at least half of this list before the end of the summer read- a-thon!”So for this challenge, I’m only going to read around three books but for my own little challenge, I want to read all of these books!

So vote for one book in each category that you want me to read, and if there’s one that you REALLY want me to read vote twice and let me know in the comments!!

P.S. The little stars next to a title means that they are arcs for review, so if I do read them there will most definitely be a review posted for that title.

  1. I wanted to do this but I know I won’t be able to stick to the plan. And I agree most read-a-thons be too short or have way too many rules.

Anyways, I voted. Can’t wait to see what the community chooses for you to read.

    1. Thank you so much for voting! I don’t plan on sticking to this challenge either, I’m just going to do my own thing because it’s too short of a time period for me to read multiple books!

Good luck with your readathon! I voted, but I’m just going to say here too that I think you should read Salt to the Sea! It’s a great book, and it’s quite quick to read 😀

    1. I knew that I should have bought when I went to Target! Even if it doesn’t win I’m still going to read it after I’ve read so many glowing reviews, and have had it recommended to me numerous times! Thanks for stopping by and for voting!

    Hi Victoria! How are you?

Oh so this is what the read-a-thon is! Very interesting. I don’t think I’ll be participating. I would much rather choose the books I would read rather than vote. And my mood has to be accounted for as well. I voted and I look forward to seeing your reviews!

    Have fun 🙂

    1. Usually I’m a mood reader as well, but… I’m around 30+ books behing on my Goodreads challenge and I realized that my mood is hindering my reading progress ;D Any way, this really helped me decide what it was that I wanted to focus on, instead of just being overwhelmed by all the books that I have on my tbr. Thanks for voting!

Yeah I feel you. It seems that I’ve become a mood reader as well.

        No problem! Enjoy 🙂

    1. Eventually I will read it, but it doesn’t seem to be very popular right now in the polls ;D Thank you though, after your recommendation it’s now at the top of my tbr!
