Hello everyone, today we have a very exciting guest post brought to you by our 14th author, Ms. Kathryn Holmes. I’ve been so excited to read How it Feels to Fly since I had first heard of it! Since in my family we have a lot of dancers ( some professional and others who are still learning) I’m always excited to read books that discuss the struggles of choosing this art form. There are also a lot of other artists in this book, and you’ll get to know more about them after you read bout them in the dream cast! The author and I decided not to include photos of the actors because we weren’t sure of it’s legality. So instead you can simply click on the link and scroll through their pinterests board. But, before we begin, I’m going to share some information about the book.

Summary from Goodreads:
A struggle with body dysmorphia forces one girl to decide if letting go of her insecurity also means turning her back on her dreams.
Sam has always known she’d be a professional dancer—but that was before her body betrayed her, developing unmanageable curves in all the wrong places. Lately, the girl staring back at Sam in the mirror is unrecognizable. Dieting doesn’t work, ignoring the whispers is pointless, and her overbearing mother just makes it worse.
Following a series of crippling anxiety attacks, Sam is sent to a treatment camp for teens struggling with mental and emotional obstacles. Forced to open up to complete strangers, Sam must get through the program if she wants to attend a crucial ballet intensive later in the summer. It seems hopeless until she starts confiding in a camp counselor who sparks a confidence she was sure she’d never feel again. But when she’s faced with disappointing setbacks, will Sam succumb to the insecurity that imprisons her?
This compelling story from Kathryn Holmes examines one girl’s efforts to overcome her worst enemy: herself.
HOW IT FEELS TO FLY is about a teen ballet dancer, Samantha, whose severe body image and anxiety issues get her sent to a summer therapy camp. The camp, Perform at Your Peak, aims to help elite teen artists and athletes overcome the mental and emotional obstacles that are keeping them from competing and performing to their full potential. Sam’s fellow campers are all struggling with anxiety in some form—and as much as the book is about Sam’s journey, it’s also about how her peers deal with their own issues. The group has to work together and support each other to make the most of their time at PaYP. So, for Say Hello to Summer Book Releases, I thought I’d introduce you to HOW IT FEELS TO FLY’s full cast of campers!
