The Vogue Book Tag

Hi everyone! I am so excited to be officially debuting my first book tag. As you may already know I had originally debuted The Vogue Book Tag during The Summer Blogger Promo Tour ( If you would like to read that article you can click here) and the reason why this post is the “debut” is because I didn’t have the time to create an image before I was scheduled on the SBPT.  So it looked sloppy and since I was a part of the tour I wasn’t able to nominate anyone to do the tag! I hope that you guys will be able to participate since I now have an image and can nominate all of you!! Before I go on to do the tag I feel like I should give some sort of back story as to how I came up with the idea. What happened was that I needed to send in a guest post idea to Amber and Jessica because the tour was about to start and I hadn’t sent anything yet. So being the procrastinator that I am, I sat down and watched a Grace Kelly Movie and BAM! A book tag was born! I was so inspired by her and her life that I created a book tag based loosely about her life.

1.You are a socialite going on a shopping spree with your most stylish book BFF. You are going to be having lunch with your favorite author later that day at NYC chicest restaurant. Wanting to make a good impression the both of you hit every store on Fifth Avenue and rack up quite a bill. What book character would you have style your outfit for your important lunch date?
Hmm… That’s a tough one. I think that I would have to pick Macey from the Gallagher Girls series by Ally Carter. She is very fashionable spy who would not only know how to accessorize me but would also have me decked out in spy gear which is always a plus. You never know when you’ll be attacked by the Circle of Cavan.
2.You are attending a charity event entitled #WeNeedDiverseBooks. In order to raise money for the cause they are auctioning off a date to the highest bidder. The date will be with any book character that the winner chooses. Who would you bid for?
Who would I bid for ?!? So many different (bookish) people! I would probably pick Wesley from The Princess Bride. Okay, so I’ve never read the book * surprise, surprise* but, from what I’ve gathered from the movie after watching it at least forty times is that we would get on perfectly. We’re both snarky, obnoxious, charming, good looking and so forth ;D
3.This years theme at the Met Gala is book covers. The attendees have to pick a stunning outfit from a beautiful book cover and wear it. The men are dressed in their finest and the women’s dresses range from stunning to daring. With your impressive literary knowledge you of course are going to be the main attraction this year. What dress from a gorgeous book cover would you wear?
The Shoemaker’s Wife by Adriana Trigiani has such a beautiful dress cover it would totally be a show stopper!

4.As Hollywood’s IT girl you get offered all of the best roles directed by the best directors. You have more awards than you know what to do with and aren’t afraid to use your power to secure the roles that you want. While at the coffee shop you read this amazing book and decide that you want to make it into a movie. What book would you want made into a movie for you to star in?
I would have to go with the Gallagher Girl series. I love the concept of a teenage spy having to deal with a secret society and going to an all girls boarding school. I would want to play Macey for two reasons. One, she is very fashionable and I love fashion so I would just love her costumes. Two, I feel like she has the most personal growth in the series in contrast to the other characters and I feel like that would be a challenging role.
5.The world’s top fashion magazine Vogue has asked you to grace the cover of their September issue. In fact, the whole September issue highlights your love of books. Your photo shoot is inspired by your favorite classic fairy tale. With so many gowns and stories to choose from which fairy tale would you choose?
I would probably choose The Snow Queen. Not because it’s my favorite classic fairy tale because the story has always scared me (to tell you the truth they are all frightening) or because of Frozen. I just think that a photo shoot set in Norway would give the photos such a cool aesthetic and I would love the clothes. I don’t think that I would be too excited though about being cold. Maybe I should rethink my decision?

6.You have just received the most exciting news ever. The royal family has invited you and a friend to have tea with them in the royal palace. Wanting to make a good impression you decide to bring a long the most intellectual person you know. So you invite an author whose work is widely regarded as genius. Who would you bring along to have high tea with the royals?
William Shakespeare need I say more?
7.You are invited to a wedding tonight. This is no ordinary wedding though. On the couples private island they are flying out your favorite pop star to serenade them that night. You are so excited that you can’t wait to get there. Unfortunately, the island is so remote that it takes at least two days to get there by yacht. Unable to contain your excitement you decide to read a book where music is its main theme. What book are you reading on your two day yacht trip?
I would definitely re-read For the Record. It’s all about life as a musician and what it’s like being on tour with an indie band. I just finished it the other day and Oh My Goodness I loved it so much! It’s one of my favorite books of 2015! Trust me that after you read it you’re left feeling like this….
8.Being a socialite isn’t as easy as it seems. Between attending fabulous parties, working with some of the most important people in the world, and mingling with royalty your simply exhausted. So you pack up and go to an exclusive resort in Tulum, Mexico to get some well deserved relaxation. Of course you can’t go anywhere without a few books. What books would bring to read on your tropical retreat?
I would definitely bring a short book with me because Tulum is such a beautiful destination that you don’t want to waste a moment not absorbing its beauty and culture (does that make sense?). I saw Chasers of Light by Tyler Knott Gregson at my local Anthropologie the other day and after I read the first few pages I knew that I needed to own it. It’s this little book of love poetry that is ” a chance collaboration between a Remington typewriter and a used book has developed into a series of insightful and beautifully worded poems on found paper.” So yeah, I love it, I need it, I want it now.

I nominate:
and you!
